Goals

The MEANS portal of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Lyon (FST) was created in 2016 . It includes the facilities dedicated to experimentation and analysis and offering services to the academic community and to industry. This multi-disciplinary portal displays facilities located in academic labs or in technological platforms.

Three main types of services can be offered:
  • Full support : Machine + engineer
  • Access to the machine with punctual assistance of engineers
  • Training courses

Note that most of the facilities listed on the portal are also used by local research teams. These teams usually work on specific topics. It is recommended to discuss with them and with the Technical Facility Manager to know if a collaborative operation is possible or not.

Access to the resource can be achieved by two ways:

- Direct contact with the Technical Facility Manager (TFM) once the required facility means has been identified

- By asking a question (page "Ask a question").

This portal is thought to be simple and intuitive. It must enable an academic or industrial user to quickly identify interlocutors in connection with the targeted facility.
